Charity Garden Days
Over the last few years we have been increasing the range of plants in the garden and are excited to have now extended our general opening times. On top of this we have some extra open days in aid of the National Gardens Scheme so you can have a chance to see our collections of snowdrops, heritage daffodils and other early spring bulbs. In 2020 these dates will be:
Friday 14th & Saturday 29th February
Saturday 14th March
During the rest of the summer we will also be opening for the National Gardens Scheme on the following dates:
Saturday 4th & Monday 13th April
Sunday 3rd, Monday 4th & Monday 25th May
Sunday 7th & 21st June
Thursday 16th July
On all the above dates we are open 11am to 5pm (dusk if earlier) Admission: £4.00
Courses & Workshops
We offer several courses and workshops throughout the year. These are designed to be friendly, fun events suitable for any ability of gardening enthusiast. In 2020 we will be running the following courses:
SUCCULENT SUCCESS – Pixie Garden Workshops
These hands on half day courses will be led by Ross and will look at the range of succulents, how to care for and propagate them. These fun workshops that include creating your own Pixie Garden to take home. All you need to bring is a good imagination.
Dates: 2pm to 5pm, 14th June or 15th June 2020
FERNS FOR BEGINNERS – Frondy Friends
Join us and Angela Tandy from Fibrex Nurseries to explore this versatile range of plants. We will be looking at some of the best garden choices, how to use them and basic principles of propagation. The day will run from 10.30 am to 3 pm and will include morning coffee, lunch and a garden tour plus a talk from Angela.

ECOLOGY IN THE GARDEN – Bugs, grubs and more
How we look after our gardens determines what might be living in them. We can almost view our gardens as mini safari parks and their contribution to the wider diversity of the UK is easily underestimated. Join us to gather ideas of how to make a difference to nature while still having beautiful gardens. The day will run from 10.30 am to 3pm and will include morning coffee, lunch and a garden tour.

MEET THE ARTIST – Victoria Westaway
This free event is a great chance to meet the talented artist and sculptor Victoria Westaway. Over a number years Victoria has been exhibiting some of her woven willow and bronze sculptures in The Picton Garden. This event gives you a chance to see the artworks in-situ and discover more about the process behind them. Victoria will be running demonstrations throughout the day and there will be lots of chance to chat just pop in any time while we are open, 11am - 5pm.
Cost: Free but if you do want to visit the garden admission does apply, £4.00 per person.

Please call 01684 540416 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to book your place on any of these courses. Booking closes two weeks before the course date and places are limited. There is a 10% discount for season ticket holders, and you will receive 10% off the total cost if booking more than one course.
