SNOWDROPS – A DANGEROUS INTRODUCTION!

If you enjoy the sight of snowdrops in late winter, a sign that the worst is over and soon the longer days will be back, but have always wanted to know a little more about them then this is the workshop for you. But be warned it is all to easy to fall for these dainty charmers and the stories that go with them.

Galanthophilia could be just around the corner! This light hearted workshop will look at the variation out there in snowdrops, cultivation and planting combinations. The cost includes a guided tour of the garden, an indoor workshop session as well as tea and cake.

INSPIRATION FOR YOUR FOUR SEASON GARDEN 

Saturday 13th April, 22nd June, 5th October 2024 & 8th February 2025, 11am

Each of these workshops will look how to plan and plant for the relevant season with the aim of having interest in the garden all year round. This method can be applied to small areas or on a larger scale. Each session would work as a stand alone workshop but combined you should have a great jumping off point for getting your garden full of interest 365 days of the year.

The workshops will involve studying our garden plus other examples and will be both indoor and out. Tea and cake included

INSPIRATION FOR YOUR FOUR SEASON GARDEN 

FERNS – MUCH MORE THAN GREEN

Ferns are all too often dismissed as green and boring, this workshop aims to introduce you to the wider world of ferns and how they can bring life to some of the toughest positions in the garden. Propagation, cultivation and using them in the garden will all be covered. The cost includes a guided tour of the garden, an indoor workshop session as well as tea and cake.

SUCCULENT SUCCESS

FULLY BOOKED

Spend an afternoon learning about some of the most popular tender succulents and how to look after them. This hands on workshop helps you understand compost, propagation and watering. Finishing up with your own arrangement of Old Court succulents in a ‘Pixie Garden’ for you to take home.

To book your place on one or more of the courses listed above please call 01684 540416 or email oldcourtnurseries@btinternet.com. We ask for a 25% deposit upfront to reserve your place the rest is payable on the day of the course. Booking for each course closes ten days before the date of the course.

Terms

All cancellations made with less than one weeks notice may lose their deposits if we are unable to run the course as a result. 

We will aim to run the courses as stated but if their is insufficient interest the course may be cancelled or delayed. However we will give at least one weeks notice with the option of swapping course or a refund.

Charity Garden Days

Over the last few years we have been increasing the range of plants in the garden and are excited to have now extended our general opening times. On top of this we have some extra open days in aid of the National Gardens Scheme so you can have a chance to see our collections of snowdrops, heritage daffodils and other early spring bulbs.

In 2024 the National Garden Scheme open days will be.
